This weekend just passed saw the annual AIPP APPAs (for those who don’t know – the Australian Professional Photography Awards are the biggest event in the photography industry calendar)
Every year I enter and push myself to create works outside the box. Creative pieces I maybe wouldn’t otherwise create.
The awards always give me this push and even with the stress and nail biting, Always happy for that.
Each APPA I grow and learn as a photographic artist. I am challenged, rubbed raw and ready to go again for the next year. I’m truly inspired by all the amazing works which are entered and proud to be an AIPP member and part of these awards.
This year I entered 4 works again in Analogue and Historical Process and came away with 3 Silver Awards. I am very happy!
I also entered a Photographic Book this year – a hand bound cyanotype one off artist book. Although my Book did not score an award, it provoked interesting discussion and debate with the judges. It challenged what is a book and pushed ideas further – for that I am extremely happy!!!
Congratulations to all the category winners – the works you have created blow me away! To all the finalists and every one awards – thanks for entering. Seeing all the works you make is part of what keeps me inspired and coming back for more each year!!!
Thanks to the AIPP – such a fantastic family to be a part of!!!
